The third Project Steering Committee Meeting within the scope of Kocaeli Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan (Kocaeli SUMP) was held on 15.06.2023 at Kocaeli Congress Centre. The meeting was hosted by Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality Department of Transport and attended by experts from the Department of EU Investments and the contractor EGIS & Boğaziçi Project consortium. During the meeting, information about the completed and ongoing works within the scope of Kocaeli SUMP project was given.
Within the scope of Kocaeli Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan, the Project Steering Committee met for the 3rd time on 15.06.2023.
The meeting was hosted by Mr. Ahmet Çelebi, Head of Transportation Department of Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality, with the participation of Dr. Tijen İĞCİ, Head of EU Investments Department, Mr. Serdar YILMAZ, Contract Manager and Mr. Alper KAYA, Publicity and Visibility Officer on behalf of the Contracting Authority.
On behalf of the contractor EGIS & Boğaziçi Project consortium, Project Team Leader Mr. Philippe CALVIE, Local Project Manager Mr. Yücel Erdem DİŞLİ, Project Coordinator Ms. Melike Sarım Boynuyoğun and Communication and Stakeholder Engagement Specialist Mr. Murat Çağatay presented the progress of the project.
The results of the 12 thematic workshops held within the scope of stakeholder and citizen participation in the project, which continues in accordance with the work schedule, and the common vision of Kocaeli determined by the votes of stakeholders and citizens were presented. Experiences gained from the trainings and study visit organised within the scope of capacity building activities were explained. In addition, details about the calibration and validity tests of the activity-based model within the scope of transport demand forecasting model studies were shared.
As of the point reached in the project, the first two milestones of the project, “Data Collection Results and Current Mobility Analysis” and “Determination of Common Vision and SUMP Targets” reports are about to be completed.
